COLCHESTER Harriers' Adrian Mussett won the high-class Grand East Anglia 10km race, in King's Lynn.

He triumphed at a canter in a solid time of 33 minutes and 50 seconds.

Mussett also took the veterans' prize and is still one of the top veteran and senior runners in the country.

Anita Mussett clocked a good 49m 49s.

Elsewhere, Allen Smalls won the Heritage Half-Marathon, at Thorpeness.

This is a tough, off-road event along Sizewell Beach and Minsmere Forest and he managed a time of 1h 22m.

It was Smalls' ninth victory here, which includes a few full marathon victories as well.

Mark Harrod was a good runner-up in the Heritage 10km and Becky Bjotter and Rachel Richardson-Wright also ran well.

David Wright finished the half-marathon.

Malcolm Statham completed his 197th marathon at the same event in 3h 28m for fifth place - his fastest-ever Heritage marathon time.

The Witham Five event saw a great team win by Harriers, with Danny Millward a superb fourth in 28m 22s to win the junior prize, with Harrod fifth and first veteran 40 in 28m 31s.

Colin Ridley was first over-50 and sixth in 28m 33s.

Second claim Harrier James Wright was the overall winner in 27m 50s.

Pete West was second over-50, clocking 30m 20s, while Richard Boden ran his second personal best of the weekend, finishing 17th in 31m 16s.

Richard Flutter, coming back from injury, was pleased with 31m 50s.

At the latest round of Parkruns, a massive turnout of 428 at the Colchester Castle event saw a double win for Harriers' Anthony Barraclough (17m 27s) and Laura Shewbridge (a personal best 19m 1s).

Fergus Crouch was fifth in 18m 9s, Andy Raynor seventh in 18m 29s, Ian Haw eighth in 18m 34s and Boden ninth in 18m 58s (PB).

Wright was 13th in 19m 26s, with Lewis Bysouth-Smith having a personal best 19m 32s for 15th.

Elspeth Bisson was second lady in 20m 24s and Elizabeth Woods fourth in 22m 15s.

Chris Sellens won the Great Cornard Parkrun in 17m 5s, with Drew Olley third in 18m 43s.

Tristan Steed won the Great Notley event in 17m 23s and the final victory of the weekend came from Milly Presland, at the Thetford Forest Parkrun, clocking 20m 46s.
