COLCHESTER and Tendring Athletic Club's under-15 boys triumphed at the East Anglian Track and Field League Final, at Bury St Edmunds.

They secured 133 points to finish ahead of runners-up Nene Valley and Norwich, who both finished on 128 points.

It was a terrific achievement, to the delight of team managers Mandy Hicks and Vicky Kelway.

There was another fine result for CATs in the under-17 women and senior women section, after they finished an excellent second.

The club also competed in the under-13 boys and under-15 girls categories, to ensure a successful end to the season.

League standings, under-13 boys: 1 Norwich 120.5 points, 2 Ipswich Harriers 103 points, 3rd CATs 92.5 points.

Under-15 boys: 1 CATs 133 points, 2 Nene Valley 128 points, 2 Norwich 128 points.

Under-15 girls: 1 Ipswich Harriers 158 points, 2 Norwich 143 points, 3 Braintree 133 points, 4 Luton 104 points, 5 Peterborough 98 points, 6 CATs 81 points.

Under-17/senior women: 1 Ipswich Harriers 188 points, 2nd CATs 152 points.

Senior women: Lauren Woodiwiss: 1st in the 300m, 2nd in the 200m; Joy Ogunleye: second in the 100m and 200m; Kadisha Garba: 1st in the 300m; Debbie Castle: 1st in the discus and javelin; Phillipa Baxter: 1st in the 1,500m.

Valuable points were also scored for CATs by Georgia Sturgeon and Mandy Hicks, in the track events.

Under-13 boys: Oliver Mitchell: 1st in the 200m.

Under-15 boys: Akin Akinboh: 1st in the 100m and 200m; Jimmi Sijuwola: 2nd in the 100m and 200m; Thomas Palmer: 1st in the 800m; Lewis Neubronner: 2nd in the high jump 1.60m; Stefan Godron: 1st in the javelin, 41.40m.

Personal bests (PBs): Cameron Humphries: Under-13 1,500m, 4 minutes 43.9 seconds; Oliver Mitchell: Under-13 long jump 3.78 metres; Bradley Hicks: Under-15 boys discus 24.77m; Skye Goodman: under-15 girls javelin, 16.16m; Ayra Anderson: 800m 2m 34.6s.

Meanwhile a promising young Colchester duo did themselves proud at the Dedham 10k event.

Harriers' Ramadan Osman won in a PB time of 33m 33s PB, with training colleague Joe Patterson from CATs fourth in 36m 16s, also a PB.
