Gold for Kearse

ED Kearse took gold at the West Midlands Archery Society Double World Record Status FITA Shoot at the National Sports Centre at Lilleshall.
The Colchester and District Archery Club bowman put himself in second position after the first day's shoot with a score of 1,106 out of 1,440, just two points behind the leader in the cadet round.
The next day was held in cold and wet conditions, but the Colchester youngster shot well with a final score of 1,130.
Combined with the previous day's score, it placed Kearse in first place, by more than 100 points.
