David Wright is relishing the pressure of Ipswich Town's promotion push - and insists there is no chance of him buckling in tomorrow's crunch match at rivals Wolves.
Town and the Midlanders have their sights firmly fixed on the last play-off spot ahead of their eagerly-awaited showdown at Molineux.
Town boosted their chances - not to mention morale - with a well-deserved 2-1 success against Norwich City last Sunday.
Wolves, on the other hand, suffered a setback when they went down 1-0 at home to Black Country rivals West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday.
Either way, there's everything to play for tomorrow and Wright told the Gazette: "We're still in with a shout of the play-offs but we need to win all three of our remaining games to have a chance, especially as there's a number of clubs now after sixth spot.
"It's such an inconsistent division this year but all we can do is concentrate on our own form, rather than worrying about others.
"I've been in this position before, when I was at Crewe.
"It went right down to the wire and we eventually finished second in League One, to go up to the Championship.
"It's a pressurised situation but a nice pressure. It's something we've got to relish and I'm still very confident we'll get done what needs to be done.
"Real pressure as far as this division goes is being (relegation-threatened) Barnsley or Sheffield Wednesday."
Wright returned to the starting line-up last weekend after a spell on the bench.
His cool, assured performance at left-back, and later centre-half, reflected his unflappable persona away from the action. Now he wants to keep his place for the remaining three games.
"I want to make sure I'm always in the manager's thoughts," said the former Wigan Athletic man.
"I want to start and finish every game and it can be hard to make an impression when you're a substitute.
"Of course, I was unhappy to be dropped. No player likes it when that happens.
"I've had chats with the manager in recent weeks and he's told me what he thinks.
"Now it's down to me to work hard and keep my place."
