Colchester’s Connor Wickham has been named as Coca-Cola Football League Young Player of the Month for April.

The Ipswich Town striker — who was recently linked with a £5m move to Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur — was in electric form last month.

Wickham found the net three times in four starts for Ipswich in April, scoring against Derby County, Doncaster Rovers and Newcastle United.

The talented 17-year-old is currently away on international duty with the England under-17 squad, preparing for the European Championships in Liechtenstein.
