An appeal has been launched against Damien Delaney’s shock red card picked up in Ipswich Town’s 1-0 win over Scunthorpe United on Saturday The Town defender was given his marching orders after tripping Jonathan Forte in full flight, with referee Pat Miller leaving most spectators at Portman Road aghast at his decision.
However, he deemed the incident as serious foul play and if it is upheld by the FA’s Disciplinary Committee tomorrow, Delaney will face a three-match ban, and maybe even a further match if the FA believe Town’s appeal was frivolous.
