Roy Keane believes his club’s supporters showed their true colours at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
And the Ipswich Town boss wants more of the same during tonight’s Championship date at fellow strugglers Scunthorpe.
More than 1,500 fans made the trip to South Yorkshire, loyally backing the manager and his team and helping them bounce back after the disappointment of last Tuesday’s defeat at Peterborough.
Keane said after that setback that his side may have used up the last remaining drops of patience, among supporters.
But the travelling contingent proved him wrong and Keane said: “They are still behind the club and that’s what real supporters do.
“It’s very easy to support a team when it’s winning.
“Why do you think all the big clubs get 40, 50 and 60,000 every week? Because they’re winning. It’s easy.
“But it’s the supporters who get behind you when you’re up against it."
