The Blues battled heroically to protect their slender one-goal lead from the first leg at Portman Road.
But an opener on the hour-mark from Nicklas Bendtner was quickly followed by a second from Laurent Koscielny.
And the writing was on the wall when Cesc Fabregas slotted a late third past goalkeeper Marton Fulop.
