Carlos Edwards believes Ipswich could be a force in the Championship – if they had a “prolific goal-scorer”.
The Blues have struggled for goals all season and their two top marksmen only have six each.
It leaves them 17th in the table and just four points above third-from-bottom Sheffield Wednesday.
But Edwards sees brighter times ahead, if manager Roy Keane is successful in luring a proven scorer to Portman Road.
“The manager may have to go looking for a prolific scorer to improve matters next season,” said the Trinidad and Tobago international.
