Lockwood linked with the U's

Colchester United have been linked with a move for Matt Lockwood.

The U's are reported to have bid £100,000 for the Nottingham Forest defender.

Lockwood, 31, has spent much of his career at Leyton Orient.

The Rochford-born player spent more than a decade at the east London club, clocking up nearly 400 appearances.

Lockwood only joined Forest last summer but has played only 11 league games for the Reds, in their Coca-Cola League One promotion-winning season.

Too old, too slow, too many injuries, not wanted by Orient.

Blimey, this fella couldn't run when he was 23. Ditched by Forest because he couldn't get a game and we are paying money for him.....incredible.

A lot of future in this signing GW. Well done glad to see the scouting system works.

Lockwood must be a better bet than all those young left backs out there!!

Do you have any idea about football at this level?

Locky will be a quality addition to your squad.

Numpties.

Arrr yes, Fnar Fnar, not that absurd Greenstead,me and Crone would never be caught dead there, i think old Matthew would be a quality addition to your squad in the suburbs of Essex.

Yours dearest, an Orient fan with class, Sir Frederick Classic Hands.

I know that Orient turned down the chance to re-sign him! What does that tell you.

Must be all his family writing in.

I also know there are many better, younger left backs out there.

Why did we not get Bailey from Barnet and Barnard from Spurs (just two examples of young hungry talent) when they became available. Well done Southend!!

And didn't this hungry young talent do well on Friday night!!! Well done Southend!!.

Perhaps David, the reported fee of £100,000 was to rich for Orient, after all our record fee was just £50,000 just a short time ago.
This aint rocket science David, one hand fans who have actually seen Matt for 9 years or a moaner who probably doesn't know him from Adam?
guess who we all listen to.
