Athletic's season ends on a high

Colchester Athletic completed their successful season by adding the Wally Castle Invitational Trophy to their haul of silverware.

Having won the division six title, Athletic rounded things off with a 2-1 defeat of Eastgate.

Meanwhile, FC Byair nabbed the top spot in division four after their 6-1 win at Ramsey Reserves.

Goals from Brady (3), Stephenson (2) and Davis gave them the points. Borussia Thorpmund completed the games they could fit in with a double-header against Newtown Reserves and scored 26 over the two matches.

The first ended in a 13-0 victory, with Boyce (3), Joseph (3), Cutmore (2), Claxton (2), Oldhamstead, Crewes and Lewis on target, while the second was won 13-1, with strikes from Wiggett (3), Joseph (3), Cutmore (2), Lewis (2), Hammond, Claxton and Boyce.

AFC Lexden beat FC Drury 5-3 with a Buda hat-trick.

In division five, Elmstead Athletic beat Allstars 4-3 with goals from Llewellyn, Barrett, Pryke and Serheunik but Allstars still took the title on goal difference.

Feering United Reserves moved up to fourth with a 2-0 defeat of Colchester Deaf.

Bayern Monkwick made sure of fourth in the premier division with a 4-1 win over Knights Allstars. FCB took a 3-0 lead at Kelvedon, through Gooding (2) and Steward, but the hosts saved a point, replying with goals from Mills (2) and McQuiston.

In division one, champions Real BTS finished off with a 6-2 win against Ramsey United.

Smithen (3), Braddon, Joy and an own goal gave Real the points.

SC Kelvedon Reserves won 6-1 at Tollegion thanks to a hat-trick from Roulston, Whittle (2) and Webb, while Middlewick Rangers beat Botolphs 3-0 with goals from Youngs, Burridge and Goneh. In division two, Brightlingsea Regent finished with a 7-1 win against Chappel and Wakes Colne, with goals from Griggs (3), Ashley Sauka, Aaron Sauka Roots and Pooley.

Oyster Legion lost 5-3 to CUSA, who had Welsford (3) and Foulkes (2) on target and Bayern Monkwick Reserves beat Riverview 4-1 with goals from Wiggins, Moles, Williams and Sadler.

Blueforces claimed the division three title, beating Norfolk Destroyers 5-2. Revie (3), Price and Andrews gave Blueforces the victory they needed.

Villa Royale beat Revolution 6-2 with goals by Potter (3), Thomas (2) and Patterson.
