U's cup dream still alive
COLCHESTER United's under-18s pulled off a piece of cup magic when they travelled to play QPR at Harlington in the semi-final of the Youth Alliance League Cup area semi-final and won 3-0.
On league form, it should not have been a contest with Rangers sitting top of the league with one defeat all season and with the U's languishing in tenth spot.
The squad was almost at full strength with just Sam Corcoran and Ryan Amass missing through injury.
The U's goalscorers were Jeremiah Olusanya, Perry Sansford and Jimmy Pirie.
The team now await the winners of the Brighton and Brentford game to find out who will be their area final opponents

Well done U's, and a clean sheet to boot!
Should they get past Brighton/Brentford and reach the final for the third successive season, then its possible the final itself could be played at Layer Road and could be the last game ever played there. It would be a fitting end and would be a crumb of comfort in what otherwise has been a dismal season.

Well done kiddies! You are our future. We need you. According to The Sun today, Dean Gerken is off to West Ham and Kevin Lisbie is off to Crystal Palace. I dont believe everything I read but its not surprising the vultures are circling. Gerken, Lisbie and Johnnie Jackson are the only ones in my eyes to emerge with any credit over the season.
