Colchester United found themselves on the wrong end of a giantkilling on Tuesday night after sliding to a shock 2-1 loss at Coca-Cola League Two club Barnet.
The U's were dumped out of the competition at the third round stage, after slipping to defeat at Underhill.
It had all looked rosy for Colchester when Jamie Cureton gave them the lead nine minutes before the break after capitalising on a mistake by Bees defender, Nicky Nicolau.
However, Barnet came out strongly in the second half and Ismail Yakubu levelled the scores with a deflected effort, just after the hour mark.
Then with ten minutes to go, Jason Puncheon let fly with a spectacular shot which flew into the top corner, to dump the U's out of the competition at the first hurdle.
