Icy conditions caused havoc with today's non-league football fixtures.
Braintree Town's Blue Square Bet Premier match at Lincoln City bit the dust and so too did the Ryman League games involving Heybridge Swifts and Maldon and Tiptree.
Swifts had been due to entertain Harlow Town - only for the Scraley Road pitch to fail a 10.30am inspection - and it was a similar story for Maldon's match at Romford, which was called off at 11.45am.
The entire Ridgeons League programme was postponed - meaning no premier division action for Stanway Rovers at Walsham-le-Willows or FC Clacton at Diss.
In division one, Halstead Town were unable to play their derby with Cornard United, while Brightlingsea Regent were thwarted in their attempts to play Ipswich Wanderers.
Wivenhoe Town were not due to play this weekend anyway.
Frozen pitches also caused the entire Essex Senior League programme to be scrapped, including the contest between Witham Town and Barkingside.
