Aidy Boothroyd was right to label his Colchester United players amateurish, according to David Fox.
However, the skilful midfielder is adamant the U’s can still challenge for a top-two spot, in Coca-Cola League One.
Colchester boss Boothroyd was critical of his players after their 2-1 defeat to ten-man Carlisle United, last weekend.
But the promotion-chasing U’s will aim to get back on track when they travel to play Walsall at the Bescot Stadium tomorrow.
Fox said the club’s players have taken their manager’s criticism on board this week. And the former Manchester United trainee remains confident that they can still snatch an automatic promotion spot, with 11 games to play.
Fox said: “I think the manager had a point."
