Colchester United’s new ticketing policy has the backing of many of the club’s fans.

That is the opinion of Supporters Association chairman Jon Burns, after prices to watch the U’s next season were unveiled.

Supporters can now snap up quarter or half season ticket packages for the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Fans can also buy season tickets before the end of the season and not pay any extra – even if high-flying Colchester win promotion back to the Coca-Cola Championship.

The Gazette is backing the U’s voucher scheme, which will see season ticket holders benefit from various discounts from local businesses.

Chairman Robbie Cowling has urged fans to come and support Aidy Boothroyd and his players, in the U’s third season at the new stadium.

Burns told the Gazette: “The fans I’ve spoken to have no quibbles about the pricing structure."
