COLCHESTER Phoenix celebrated another successful year at their annual meeting.
The evening started with a thank you to outgoing chairman and treasurer Tim and Helen Rodwell.
The pair have worked tirelessly behind the scenes over the last two years.
The club is made up of two sections and the award winners from the teaching section were Emilia Lord, Jeremy Asiedu and Lily Waters.
All have made great progress this year.
Ellie Lacey took the commitment award in the development section of the club.
The Award of Excellence went to Ellie Challis, who finished her year on a high by taking the 50 metres British record for the SB2 50m breaststroke.
This was a record that had stood for 25 years.
Mark Holmes, Holly Bocking and Helen Thompson claimed achievement and endeavour awards as they competed for their country at the Downs Syndrome European Championships, in Paris.
Nirari Youseffi-Titchen won the special achievement award as he has been selected to represent Team England at this year's Cerebral Palsy World Games, in Spain.
Francesco Wilson-Turco took the Chris North Achievers Cup.
This was for his willingness to tackle different approaches to perfect his swimming and diving.
Phoenix have thanked all the volunteers who give up their time to help out, both on the committee and in the pool.
They would also like to thank sponsors McDonalds and the Colchester Children’s Charity Appeal.
