COLCHESTER Swimming Club members claimed more than 30 medals between them at the Essex Masters Championships.

Katie Holmes, Simon Emm, Damian Navarrete, James Heathcote and Rob Milburn were all in fine form, at Basildon’s Sporting Village.

In a hectic one-day schedule, they produced some solid performances and a couple of personal best (PB) times, across a wide variety of events.

Holmes was a close second, in the overall female category.

She took gold medals in both the breaststroke events and both the butterfly events, along with silver in the 100m Individual Medley.

Emm won two gold medals in the 100m butterfly and 200m freestyle, with a further two silvers (missing out on the 50m fly gold medal by a mere 0.06 of a second) and a bronze medal in the 100m freestyle.

Milburn matched Emm's medal count, winning his age category in both the 100m breaststroke and the 100m Individual Medley.

Heathcote won 50m breaststroke gold, a further four silver medals and a bronze medal, posting a personal best (PB) in the 100m backstroke.

Navarrete shook off a recent injury with three silver and three bronze medals, achieving a PB time in the 50m breaststroke.
