SD SCHOOL of Martial Arts student Leon Roberts is celebrating international success.
Roberts, who trains in Phoenix Freestyle Kung Fu, was selected to represent Great Britain in Shuai Jaio (Chinese Wrestling), after a successful performance at last year's British Council for Chinese Martial Arts (BCCMA) National Championships.
It was his first international competition and took place in San Jose, California.
Roberts had been training with team-mates at SD, as well as travelling to Luton to train with Team GB.
After some tough bouts, he finished in third place, bringing home a bronze medal.
SD Phoenix instructor Martyn Morrisson said: "Leon has competed at national level for a few years now and to see him take the step up to international level is fantastic. It's a massive achievement.
"This year should see a bigger, stronger team representing at the nationals and hopefully some more Team GB selections."
