STEVE Bozier was victorious as Colchester Golf Club staged their Millennium Trophy qualifying competition.

Bozier was the outright winner of the trophy with an excellent 41 points from his 12 handicap at the event, part of the club's Millennium Week.

The week sees members and their guests play relaxed golf every day of the week, culminating on the trophy being contested on the final day.

Bozier produced pars on every hole but four to finish a point ahead of Stuart Fisher (13) and Tim Rogers (10), who both registered 40 points.

They were just one ahead of Bill Eke (4) and Andrew Jones (23), who both returned 39.

Hannah Butcher (21) and Mandy Rix (7) carded 38 points, along with Steven Cullis (17) and Ian Devenish (12).

Monday’s competition was an Am-Am, sponsored by the club’s wine supplier Mr. Wheeler.

Lorrie and Janet Austin along with guests Ann and David Holborn returned 96 points to win by three shots from Mark Hills, Ryan Smith and Darren and Fraser Northover.

Salmon Cars sponsored the ladies invitational competition on Tuesday, when Fiona Prentice, Vicky Frost, Carol Irvine and Hayley Joel had 92 points to win from Sheila and John Dornan, Catherine Chick and Nick Clare (88 points).

Wednesday’s ten-hole competition, sponsored by Andy Higgleton, was won by Darren and Fraser Northover with Stuart Fisher and M Perkins.

They returned 50 points, finishing a point clear of David Brown, Jim Boyle, Ben Kirk and Alec Alden.

Aldeburgh GC's Stuart Bark and Mike Schneider won the men’s guest day on Thursday, with an impressive 45 points.

Dan Nicholls and Paul Mutton (Frinton GC) were a close second on 44 points in the event, sponsored by Colin Williams and Serif Design.

In the Ellisons-sponsored progressive stableford, Sheila and John Dornan, along with Mike Withers and club secretary Julie Ruscoe, carded 95 points to win.

Jon Potterton, Steve Parlett, Ian Wigston and John White returned 86 points to finish second.

Potters Plumbing sponsored the two Saturday Texas Scrambles, with the morning scramble won by Jim Maltby, Janet Austin, and Alison and Nick Clare with a nett of 52.8.

Neil and Bev Parker along with John Warren and Miles Hooton took second spot after returning 55.6.

The afternoon scramble saw the Barber family triumph with the team of Resina, Charles, Ben and Lewis Barber returning 54 points.

They beat Mike Withers, John Dornan, Ian Devenish and Matt Michael on countback.

Ladies' nearest the pin prizes were awarded to Maureen Devenish (twice), Rosalie Skinner, Gill Crayston, Abigail O'Riordan and Alison Cordran.

Joe Clarke, James Ward,Gordon Bryan, David Wrycraft, Barry Hayley, Mike Hart and Andrew Eastwood (2) triumphed for the men.
