A DUO from Playgolf Colchester will embark on a bid to qualify for the grand final of Europe’s largest pro-am next month.
Steve Loran and his Playgolf Colchester PGA Professional Thomas Wiskin tee up in a forthcoming Lombard Trophy regional final at Thetford Golf Club, on June 29.
It is one of 14 qualifying events for the £80,000 tournament which for the winners culminates in a 36-hole final at Portugal’s luxurious Pestana Vila Sol Golf & Hotel resort in Portugal in September.
Loran landed a shot at qualifying for the grand final when he won his club qualifying competition with a nett score of 73.
The 59-year-old, who lives in Colchester, has been playing golf for 20 years and plays off a handicap of 10.
Wiskin, 24, has been a professional at Playgolf Colchester for four months.
