MERSEA Island Judo Club ended 2016 in style when they staged their Annual Club Championships at Mersea Island School.
The afternoon's judo was watched by more than 100 family and friends, who were treated to some excellent entertaining judo.
Every member of the club fought with pride and respect for their opponents.
Medals and annual awards were then presented by club Sensei Kate Dawson.
Gold medal winners: Dakota Johnston, Jasmine Boorman, Ella Boorman, Toby Mole, Grace Dawson, Peter Dawson, Ed Lee.
Silver medal winners: Oliver Monk, Daniel Dowsett, Lara Newton, Jenson Howard, Dakota Johnston, Bobby Boorman, Simon Moss-Gilfillan.
Bronze medal winners: Ilona Urquhart, Tyler Lawford, Summer Dowsett, Farne Urquhart, Zac Mole, Oliver Monk, Noah Kelly, Elliot Bayford, Jonathan Banks, Dale Swannell, Rosie Daines.
Annual award winners: Best Beginner - Ollie Monk, Best Girl - Farne Urquhart, King Trophy - Elliot Bayford, Best Senior - Jonathan Banks, Peter Dawson Memorial Family Award - Boorman family, Doug Powell MBE memorial - Noah Kelly, Barry Spence Memorial - Peter Dawson, Frank Le Marquand -Sensei George Coldery and Judoka of the year - Rosie Daines.
