SD SCHOOL of Martial Arts’ Brazilian Jiujitsu team won one gold, two silver and six bronze medals at the Southend Open.
The team performed consistently throughout the day in a tough competition that had some busy categories.
First-time outings for the junior competitors led to some great results, with all four juniors placing and earning three bronze and a silver between them.
The adults also did exceptionally well, gaining a gold, a silver and the remaining three bronzes to take the overall medal tally to nine.
Bronze medals were awarded to Lily Hall, Coryn Morrisson, Chris Donovan, Leon Sceats, William Timmis and Justin Andrew.
Marcus Allen and Chris Payne won silvers, while the gold medal was claimed by Martyn Morrisson.
