MARLEY Spindler was a double award-winner at Wivenhoe Town’s presentation night.

The club’s former first-team skipper was the joint-winner of the manager’s player-of-the-year prize, along with Andy Schofield.

He was also the choice of the club’s supporters.

Goalkeeper Peter Haxell won the players’ player-of-the-year award.

Ben Lampon received a prize for reaching 150 Dragons appearances and there were also awards for Spindler and Ben Parkin (100 appearances) and Miguel Nydam, Lewis Blanchett and Joe Heron (50 appearances).

Meanwhile, Wivenhoe, relegated to Thurlow Nunn League division one last season, have added another pre-season friendly to their summer schedule.

They will now entertain Wembley at the Maple Tree Cars Stadium on Tuesday, July 28 (kick-off 7.45pm).

The Dragons had previously announced three other friendlies, against Stanway Rovers (July 30), Eton Manor (August 1) and Burnham Ramblers (August 4).
