Halstead Town have signed Brightlingsea Regent striker Scott Yearling.
Town boss Mark Benterman told the Gazette this week that he felt a goal-scoring forward was the thing his team needed to cement their Thurlow Nunn League division one promotion push this year.
So he has moved quickly to get his man by signing Yearling from Ryman League division one north side Regent and is pleased to have landed a player with the pedigree he needs.
He said: "Scott's record at this level speaks for itself after firing Brightlingsea to promotion last season.
"We wish Scott success at the club."
Yearling had been on loan at FC Clacton and played against Halstead in the Humbugs' 2-1 Thurlow Nunn League Cup win on Tuesday.
