BRAINTREE TOWN have been handed an Essex Senior Cup date at home to Thurrock - if they get past Tilbury first.

Alan Devonshire’s side still have to visit the Dockers in a third-round contest, but the winners now know they will entertain Thurrock at the next stage, in a tie to be played on or before November 29.

The fourth-round draw has just been made and in other matches WITHAM TOWN or Canvey Island will visit either Redbridge of Takeley.

Witham and the Gulls had been due to play their third-round tie on Tuesday but the match had to be postponed because Canvey had an FA Cup replay.

STANWAY ROVERS and BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT are playing their third-round tie tonight, with the teams going into the match knowing the winners will travel to Romford.

Concord Rangers, conquerors of Colchester United earlier this week, have been drawn at home to Jody Brown’s Grays Athletic - the side who eliminated FC Clacton.

Aveley, who beat Wivenhoe Town on penalties on Tuesday, will host Chelmsford City, while Waltham Abbey, who knocked out Heybridge Swifts, travel to Dagenham & Redbridge.

The other two ties have paired Harlow and Billericay and Burnham Ramblers with AFC Hornchurch.
