Witham Town assistant manager Brad King knows how important home advantage could be in tomorrow’s FA Cup game against Lewes.

The two have already drawn in the opening game of the Ryman League premier division season and the south coast side won’t relish a return to the Village Glass Stadium for a second qualifying round clash.

Witham have an enviable record on home turf in recent years and extended their good run with a 2-0 win against East Thurrock United in the league on Tuesday.

King said: “We go into any game confident, especially at home because our home ground is a hard place for teams to come.

“Look at our record at home over recent seasons and you can see that.

“We lost once at home all season last year against Harlow and the season before that it was only a couple that we lost.

“We’ve lost to Billericay at home this year, but that’s it so it’s a hard place to come and we’ll be confident coming into it.”
