We've teamed up with Lexden Wood Golf Centre to produce a series of video lessons on key aspects of the game.

Nick Arter, head teaching professional at the Colchester club, will be providing a step-by-step guide to everything from correct grip and posture to technical tips for better chipping and putting.

He'll also be taking up the challenge of trying to turn 24-handicap hacker Simon Leek into a better player - watch the Gazette reporter's progress (or lack of it) here over the coming months.

Every Thursday, starting today, a new instructional video will be posted on the site, and there will be regular "Hacker's Diary" updates too!
