On a very wet and windy day, Five Lakes held the 2008 Secretary's Trophy.

The stroke play event is played over 18 holes on the championship Lakes course.

There were some fine scores with many of the lower handicap players coming to the fore.

On a day where experience and keeping your clubs dry was at a premium there were several competitors who played to their handicaps.

Club captain Chris Southgate just missed out on the prizes on count back, third place went to eight handicapper John Lewins with Matt Foot (six) taking second place, also on count back, with a nett 72.

However, emerging from the pack was seven handicapper Dave Rogers with a nett 71.
