Work-rate will be the key for new boss Razor

NEW boss Ray Turner says work-rate and determination will be the key to reviving FC Clacton’s fortunes.

The former striker has been appointed to replace Andy Taylor, who stepped down in the wake of Saturday’s 3-2 FA Vase defeat at Whitton United.

He helped take training and spoke to his new players on Tuesday night.

And despite inheriting a side that are second from bottom and win-less in the Thurlow Nunn League premier division table, Turner has no doubts he can rejuvenate the struggling Seasiders.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” he said.

“I’m relishing the challenge and buzzing to have been given this opportunity.

“The task ahead doesn’t faze me in the slightest.

“The team are second from bottom but I’ve looked at their results and it’s fine margins. It’s far from a drastic situation and the key to making progress will be work-rate.

“If you work hard and stop the other team playing, you’re 80 per cent of the way there.

“Then you just need a bit of quality to take your chances and kill games off.

“Work-rate is the minimum requirement and if players don’t give their all, they won’t be in my team. It’s as simple as that.”
