Colne are back in the top flight
11:32am Friday 27th July 2012 in Non-league football By Matt Plummer
EARLS Colne are back in the Kent Blaxill Essex and Suffolk Border League premier division.
Robin Bragg’s side found out last week that they have been promoted back into the top flight at the first time of asking, following the demise of Rowhedge.
They are heading back up after finishing third last season.
Meanwhile, Colne got back in action with a 3-3 draw in their home friendly against AFC Sudbury Reserves.
Shane Exley, Steve Coote and Carl Metson were on target for them.
Metson is one of manager Bragg’s new signings over the summer period, along with Wayne Saunders and Craig Lesiak.
Colne face Halstead Town tomorrow for a double-header of matches at Rosemary Lane.
The first teams will kick-off at 2pm and the reserve sides at 4pm.
The respective first teams will be competing for the Simon Kane Memorial Trophy.
