Jai Reason may be set to depart Braintree Town after he rejected a new deal offered by the club.
Iron manager Alan Devonshire revealed to the Times that the 22-year-old former Ipswich Town and Cambridge United midfielder, who made 44 appearances for them last season, had turned down an offer put on the table at the end of the season.
Devonshire said: “It may be the case that Jai Reason is on his way as he has rejected an engagement offer that we made to him.”
If Reason does leave, he would be the second member of last season's squad, that secured a 12th-place finish in the Blue Square Bet Premier, to depart this summer after striker Ben Wright opted for a move to Forest Green Rovers.
