Braintree Town suffered fresh disappointment tonight after crashing 3-0 at home to struggling Hayes and Yeading.
The Blue Square Premier setback stretched their winless run to seven matches.
And to rub salt into the wound, they had to play two-thirds of the match with ten men, following the 32nd-minute sending-off of Jai Reason.
All three goals came in the second half.
Luke Williams fired into the bottom right-hand corner just before the hour-mark.
Tom Collins then found the net from outside the area, seven minutes later.
And Braintree’s misery was complete when Williams added his second two minutes from time to seal an emphatic victory for Hayes.
The defeat compounded a dreadful few days for Alan Devonshire’s side, as they lost 4-1 at Mansfield Town on Saturday.
