Alan Devonshire is refusing to use his team’s part-time status as any kind of excuse for Braintree Town’s current down-turn in form.
Following a perfect run of six wins through September, the Iron have taken just one point from their last five Blue Square Bet Premier outings.
Their latest disappointment came in an extraordinary 5-4 defeat at Kidderminster Harriers and while Devonshire feels changes need to be made, he doesn’t think his team’s part-time status is behind the recent run.
“There will be an edge for a team that are full-time, but I’m not making excuses,” said the Iron boss.
“We have shown that we are a good side and the only game we haven’t scored in was the first one of the season.”
