Harwich and Parkeston pull out of the Ridgeons League

Harwich and Parkeston have decided to pull out of the Ridgeons League.

The Shrimpers are rock bottom of the premier division with just one point to their name.

The decision to pull out of the league, and join the Kent Blaxill Essex and Suffolk Border League, was made at a committee meeting on Tuesday night.

For the full story and reaction, see Thursday's Daily Gazette and Friday's Harwich and Manningtree Standard.

Another sad demise of a club steeped in history, football is in a mess at both ends of the scale and I feel has lost it's appeal in general at every level

Absolute disgrace. Poor decisions by committee. They should all resign

Seems some of the committee got what they wanted.

Well one thing for sure it's a long way back! I wonder who will stay on at that level? They would have been better off being relegated and a fresh start in Div 1 next year.

Does it save Wivenhoe this season?

All of Harwich & Parkeston games will be expunged from the records. Only one team to be relegated from the league this season.

I don't think anything can save Wivenhoe this season, nice to see Julian Dicks doing so well at Grays though!

Yeah say's it all really, if it was not for Chester having the points docked Grays would be bottom, something Dicks is very experienced in!
