BRIGHTLINGSEA Regent began their preparations for the new Bostik League premier division campaign with a 3-1 victory at Little Oakley today.
Tom Richardson, from the penalty spot, Matt Cripps and Rob Harvey scored their goals at the Memorial Ground.
Elsewhere, FC Clacton continued their pre-season build-up with an 8-2 victory over Essex and Suffolk Border League neighbours Weeley Athletic.
Jamie Beecham netted a hat-trick and he was joined on the scoresheet by Louie Newland, new signing Terry Rymer, Wayne Chapman, Jake Hearn and Lewis Blanchett.
Wivenhoe Town came from behind to win 2-1 at Earls Colne, thanks to goals from Miguel Nydam and Robo Ominiabohs.
Holland FC pipped Brantham Athletic 1-0, thanks to a goal from Chris Ribchester.
National League South side Braintree Town thumped Long Melford 6-0.
