FC CLACTON skipper Aaron Condon clocked his 100th Seasiders goal tonight – netting twice in a 3-0 victory against Thetford Town.

The front man went into the Thurlow Nunn League premier division contest on 99 goals, having netted the consolation in Saturday’s 4-1 defeat at Kirkley and Pakefield.

And he duly clocked up his century with an excellent solo effort in the second half, cutting in from the right before drilling home a low effort that beat keeper Matt Barker.

Jordan Brazitis settled the hosts’ nerves with a second in the closing stages, controlling the ball and lobbing it over the stranded Thetford shot-stopper from 40 yards.

And Condon added the third with another great effort, curling the ball into the top left-hand corner.

In addition to registering his 100th goal, they were also Condon’s 29th and 30th of the season – taking him past Sean Hillier for most strikes in a season for the Seasiders.

Hillier’s haul of 29 came in the 2008/09 campaign.

Tonight’s win ended a run of five straight defeats for the mid-table Seasiders, with their last success being the 2-0 victory against Newmarket in late-March.

Karl Andrade and Wayne Chapman had other notable efforts in the first half, while Max Kirby later drilled a rising effort just over the Thetford bar.
