STANWAY ROVERS boss Angelo Harrop is steeling his troops for what could be a “defining fixture” at premier division neighbours BRANTHAM ATHLETIC.

The Hawthorns side moved to within four points of premier division leaders Norwich United after winning 1-0 at Felixstowe & Walton on Tuesday night.

Harrop described it as one of the best victories during his time as manager.

And now he is calling for more of the same in tonight’s tough match against the Imps.

“This could be a defining game in our season,” he said.

“Brantham are always tough to play against and every time I’ve faced them as manager, the games have been the flick of a coin.

“There’s been nothing between the teams.

“I believe we’ve got a stronger squad, but they always raise their game against us.

“Hopefully we can build on our midweek victory, though, because the boys were fantastic.

“We made a real statement and it was a massive result.

“In any other league, the form we’re showing would put us ten points clear at the top of the table.

“All we can do is keep winning, though, and keep producing performances that are packed with energy, effort and passion.

“At our best, we’re relentless and so aggressive that teams can’t live with us.

“We have to keep that going because you have to work for every single point in this league.”

Harrop felt his side were back to their best at Felixstowe, having lacked their trademark “honesty” in last week’s win against Swaffham.

“We didn’t show anywhere near enough heart or passion at the weekend,” he said.

“We needed to get that honesty back in our side.

“That’s what we’re all about and it’s been missing for a few weeks.

“Teams can’t live with us when we show that much energy and effort and thankfully we had those qualities in abundance again on Tuesday.”

Elsewhere in the premier division, FC CLACTON head to Fakenham Town.
