STANWAY ROVERS were denied the opportunity to make it four straight wins after wet weather led to the postponement of their match at Swaffham Town.

A waterlogged pitch led to the Thurlow Nunn League premier division contest being called off on Saturday lunchtime.

Stanway had been looking to continue their purple patch, after recent victories against Long Melford, Saffron Walden and Thetford.

Rovers' match wasn’t the only one to be postponed on Saturday.

The same fate befell FC CLACTON’S game at home to Haverhill Rovers.

The Seasiders had been looking to get back to winning ways after last week’s FA Vase exit at AFC Dunstable.

BRANTHAM ATHLETIC’S match at home to Gorleston did go ahead, after a pitch inspection at the Leisure Centre.

The Imps had lost their previous three league and cup games, shipping ten goals and failing to score any.

However, they ended their goal drought – netting their first in more than 300 minutes – thanks to a third-minute effort from Simon Mann.

And that paved the way to a fantastic 3-0 victory, thanks to further goals from Sean Gunn and Sean Bartlett.

HALSTEAD TOWN were in First Division Knockout Cup action at Diss and 2-0.

Ricky Spriggs and Nico Farthing netted their goals, with both coming in the first half.

BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES’ tie at Cornard United was off.

WIVENHOE TOWN had no game on Saturday.

The Dragons’ First Division Knockout Cup tie against AFC Sudbury Reserves had already been rescheduled for November 18.
