STANWAY ROVERS boss Angelo Harrop is dreaming of another FA Vase adventure after his side were handed a second-round tie at home to either Godmanchester Rovers or Mildenhall Town.

Rovers made it all the way to the fifth round - one stage before the quarter-finals - last season before suffering a 2-0 defeat at St Austell.

As a reward for their great run, they were given a bye until this stage of the competition and were in the draw for the first time yesterday.

“It’s a really tough draw but we’re pleased to be at home,” said Harrop.

“Any team that comes to our place will know they’re in for a really tough game.

“We can’t wait to play in the Vase again.

“For any manager or player at this level, it’s one of the most exciting things to be involved in.

“We had an amazing run last year.

“It was fantastic and created so many memories, as well as being excellent for team spirit.”

Mildenhall and Godmanchester will play in a replay tonight, having drawn 1-1 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, both BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT and MALDON & TIPTREE are in Ryman League action.

Regent have a north division match at AFC Sudbury tonight.

James Webster’s side will be hoping to build on their back-to-back wins against Maldon and Bury Town.

Matt Cripps is still injured while goalkeeper Dan Beeson is unavailable.

Luke Read will have a late fitness test.

Maldon will be hoping to build on Saturday’s morale-boosting victory against Aveley when they host Wroxham.
