WIVENHOE TOWN boss Mo Osman insists he and his players are not talking about the club’s amazing unbeaten record.

The Dragons moved seven points clear at the top of Thurlow Nunn League division one after Friday’s 6-1 demolition of AFC Sudbury Reserves.

They are the last team in the county to remain unbeaten, at senior level, and have now won 11 of their 12 fixtures.

However, Osman insists he and his players are taking it one game at a time and not dwelling on their achievement.

“It’s very early days and we’re not getting carried away,” he said.

“We’ve just got to keep focusing on winning every game.

“All that matters is getting promotion and, ideally, winning the league.

“That’s the only prize we’re interested in - not being the last unbeaten team.

“It’s nice, of course, and it’s something we’re all aware of.

“But it’s not something we’re talking about in the dressing room.”

Headed goals from Adam Hampson and Ray Turner put Wivenhoe in the driving seat at half-time, before two more from the latter completed his hat-trick.

Sudbury then netted their consolation but a clever chipped finish from Luke Goldie-McSorley and one from Andy Schofield made it 6-1.

Meanwhile, Wivenhoe’s First Division Knockout Cup tie against Sudbury’s reserves, which had been due to take place next Saturday, has been postponed and will now be played on November 18.
