DAVID Wright hasn’t wasted anytime in shaping his Maldon and Tiptree team for the season ahead.

Wright, the former Colchester United midfielder who was appointed as the new Jammers boss last week, has moved quickly to add new players to his squad.

He has strengthened his team by adding versatile midfielder/defender Matthew Lock to his line-up.

Lock joins the Ryman League division one north club from Conference side Dover Athletic where he played 25 games.

He has formerly played for Chelmsford City, Gloucester City and also Bunbury Forum Force in Australia where he was a player/manager.

Wright, speaking to the club's website, said: “Matt is a very good midfield player and has experienced playing at a much higher level than the Ryman Division One North.

“He has an excellent attitude and along with his experience, he will be a great asset to the team.”

Keeper Danny Sambridge has joined the Jammers from division rivals Heybridge Swifts, where he has been for the last two seasons.

Also joining the Jammers is defender Connor Witherspoon.

Witherspoon was formerly playing for Ryman premier divison side East Thurrock.

He joined East Thurrock from Brentwood.

Merrick James Lewis has also to put pen to paper for the 2015/16 season.

Lewis was a professional at Southend United until 2012.

He has had spells at various clubs since then including Grays Athletic and Colchester United.

Forward, Rhys Henry has re-joined the club after spells with Needham Market and Leiston.

Henry possesses great pace to give defenders headaches. He has also played for Southend United, Lewes and Bury Town.

Nnamdi Nwachuku has also signed on the dotted line for next season.

Nnamdi is a young striker who has been on the books of Colchester United as a professional.

Most recently, he had a spell on loan at Leiston in the Ryman Premier Division.

David Levey is another addition to Wright's squad.

David is a young goalkeeper who has plenty of potential for the future.

Sam Cross has also been added to the team by Wright.

Cross is a left-back who has previously been with West Ham.

And Wright hasn’t just been strenghtening his side on the pitch he has also been adding to his backroom staff.

Liam Bailey and Mark Levey have signed up for the new campaign.

Bailey has joined as a coach, while Levey will be the club’s goalkeeping coach.

Both Bailey and Levey are currently coaches at Colchester United.
