Ray Turner has returned to one of his former clubs to become player- assistant manager of Wivenhoe Town.
The striker will work alongside boss Mo Osman as the Dragons, relegated last season, strive to regain their Thurlow Nunn League premier division status.
Kevin Brown, who had been number two, is staying at the club in a coaching role.
However, work commitments meant he was unable to dedicate as much time to the team.
Turner is no stranger to Wivenhoe followers, having played for the club in their Southern League and Ryman League days.
He recently parted company with Stanway Rovers, netting 15 goals last season, having previously played for Halstead Town, Brantham Athletic and been player-manager of FC Clacton.
“I’m really pleased to be going back to one of my former clubs and it’ll be great to be involved in management again,” said Turner.
