Maldon and Tiptree suffered a heavy defeat away at Wroxham.

The Jammers fell to a 4-1 Ryman League division one north defeat.

Wroxham made their intentions clear from the start Jack Garrod put Jamie Forshaw through on goal but he scuffed his shot wide on three minutes.

Maldon came close to open the scoring but Mitch Hunter’s 25-yard free-kick was well saved by Elliot Pride three minutes later.

The home side took an early lead when Forshaw made it 1-0 on eight minutes with a great shot into the top corner of the goal from 20 yards.

Mason Bloomfield then went close but he put his header wide when he was unmarked eight yards from goal.

Maldon’s Darren Behcet then made a good save to stop Christy Finch’s 20-yard shot.

The Jammers fell further behind when Christy Finch doubled Wroxham’s advantage on 34 minutes.

But Maldon came back into the game after half-time.

A quick break from Tunde Adewunmi released Mason Bloomfield who fired home at the near post on 50 minutes.

But Wroxham quickly restored their two-goal advantage six minutes later when Danny White put the ball over the top and Finch controlled well to beat the defender and hit his second goal of the afternoon.

It got worse for the Jammers on 71 minutes when Johnathon Nzengo was sent off.

He received a red card after a late tackle on Wroxham’s David Hinton and in the aftermath the Jammers’ player raised his hands and received a red card.

And Wroxham made their extra man count on 89 minutes when Finch found Remy Gordon who tapped into an empty net to make it 4-1.

Basement-side Burnham Ramblers salvaged a point with a late goal at Leslie Field against visiting Cheshunt.

Ramblers fell behind on 18 minutes when Adam Bolle put Cheshunt in front.

But the home side restored parity on 35 minutes through Emmanuel Johnson.

And it got better for Burnham when player/manager Bertie Brayley put them in front on 42 minutes.

Burnham, however, couldn’t hold on to the lead as, on 78 minutes, Ben Andreos equalised for Cheshunt.

And Burnham looked like they had been denied a point as Cheshunt scored in injury-time through Dave Kendall as he made it 3-2 to the home side.

But Leon Gordon fired in the equaliser in the final minutes to earn a share of the spoils for Burnham.
