PAUL Abrahams has resigned as manager of Brantham Athletic.
The former Colchester United striker has stepped down in the wake of yesterday's surprise defeat at the hands of Thurlow Nunn League premier division strugglers Ely City.
He leaves with the Imps sitting 16th in the table.
Brantham chairman Peter Crowhurst said Abrahams' resignation had been accepted with "great reluctance".
He also thanked him for his "massive contribution" to the club and for being a "true professional".
