TEN-MAN Heybridge Swifts fell to defeat in a tough match at Dereham Town.

Swifts had been competing well in their Ryman League division one north match but a red card for Jordan Wilmore on 70 minutes proved decisive as they lost out 4-2.

It was a quick start for Heybridge when Emmanuel Monthe opened the scoring with a header at the far post on four minutes.

But the home side were back on level terms on 25 minutes.

Sambridge brought down Ryan Hawkins in the area and Michael Clunan made no mistake with the resultant penalty.

On 36 minutes, Dereham went in front when Hawkins fired home to make it 2-1.

However, that lead didn’t last long as two minutes later Swifts were awarded the second penalty of the afternoon.

And it was Marcel Henry Francis who calmly put Heybridge back on level terms.

Swifts were reduced to ten men on 70 minutes when Jordan Wilmore received a red car after picking up a second yellow after tripping Louis Mason.

And then Dereham then took the lead when Hawkins scored seven minutes later.

The home side then made it 4-2 from the penalty spot when Clunan chipped his spot-kick over Sambridge and despite the keeper getting a hand to it he couldn’t keep the ball out.
