HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS manager Keith Wilson has demanded a positive response from his players in tomorrow’s Ryman One North match at Aveley.
The Scraley Road boss pulled no punches in his assessment of Sunday’s 2-1 FA Cup preliminary round defeat at FC Romania.
He labelled his players’ performance as “unacceptable” and warned that they might find themselves being dragged down the table unless results improve.
Swifts have taken just six points from their opening six league matches – a tally they will hope to improve tomorrow.
“Sunday’s performance wasn’t acceptable,” said an angry Wilson.
“If we don’t improve, we could find ourselves at the wrong end of the table and we’re better than that.
“We’ve got to battle our way out of it and turn it round - starting tomorrow."
Saturday’s match has an early kick-off at 12.45pm, as part of National Non-League Day.
Elsewhere tomorrow, Ryman Premier side WITHAM TOWN host Billericay.
MALDON & TIPTREE host AFC Sudbury, hoping to build on Tuesday’s 2-1 victory against Cray Wanderers.
BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT head to Waltham Abbey.
