Harts came back from a goal down at half-time to record a 3-1 success against Flag in the Clacton Sunday League premier division.

They went a goal down after 20 minutes when a deflected clearance fell at the feet of a Flag striker who promptly netted for the only goal of the first half. However, five minutes after the restart, a through-ball found Lewis Boniface, who slotted calmly underneath the Flag keeper to pull Harts level.

Harts then took the lead when Rob Wightman’s ballooned volley found the back of the net from distance and the game was made safe when Boniface grabbed his second as he cleverly poked the ball over the approaching Flag keeper.

Sports 2000 also triumphed 3-1 against the unpredictable Elmden Rovers.

A penalty, converted by David Auger, gave Sports the lead and Danny Findlay’s 20-yard strike doubled this before Elmden clawed a goal back through Edgar Dunkley.

Auger then put the game out of Elmden’s reach with a strike from a 25-yard free-kick.

The match between Sunday Shrimpers and Station Villa (1970) was called off owing to a waterlogged Royal Oak pitch, and Vikings were left kicking their heels when Royal Madrid notified them that they couldn’t raise a side.

In the League Cups, group A of the division one competition saw Sokretez wallop Coastal Rangers by 15 goals without reply.

Gary Clarke (4), Louie Newland (3), Jamie Blessington (2) and Rob Overton (2) were on target, with the remaining goals coming from Dean McKinnon, Cameron Walsh, Sonny Turnbull and Marty Cameron.

Second half goals from Luke Hammett’s header and Jason Law’s shot got Trinity House back into winning ways as they saw off Bullers 2-0, and in group B, the match between Crescent Rovers and Viem’s was called off as the visitors couldn’t raise a side.

The game that did take place in this section saw Sunday Shrimpers’ second-string take home all the points from their clash with Shadwell Town, who had taken an early lead through Jamie Howard.

Eddie Peacock hit an equaliser, and by the break, Shrimpers had edged in front courtesy of a 25-yard free-kick from Lee Beasley.

Shrimpers made the game theirs with two further goals in the second half, firstly from Robin Carter, and then their fourth came when Liam Heath’s shot was deflected into the net.

In the Division Two League Cup Keltic won 8-0 at Victory Rangers in group A, while in group B, Clacton United came from behind to overcome Royal Madrid Reserves 4-3.

Darren White’s two goals put United back in the game on two occasions, and they went in front for the first time when Simon Cutts netted.

It looked over for Madrid when White completed his hat-trick, but although the visitors hit a third just before the end, United held on.

Damien Lucraft gave Blacksmiths Arms a first-half lead at Oakley Magna, but Jay Lee made it all square soon into the second period.

Adam Wright’s 40-yard thunderbolt put Blacksmiths ahead and Gary May marked his debut with a third.

Lucraft then hit a second, but Oakley hit back with a goal from Liam Hymus.
