JAMIE Porter has signed a new two-year deal with Essex after a stunning title winning season.

The seamer has put pen-to-paper on a contract that will see him remain with the Club until 2020 at least.

The 24-year-old has been rewarded following another incredible season with Essex, which has seen him take 50 wickets for the third year in a row and emerge as one of the finest bowling talents in the country.

Porter is thrilled to sign an extension and said: "I consider this club as home and, following the season we have had, this was an easy decision to make.

"The way the club is developing and the team have been performing gave me no hesitation in extending my contract. Winning the Division One title caps off a perfect 2017.

"The club continues to go from strength to strength and I can't wait to be a part of that for a further two years."

Head Coach Chris Silverwood added his delight that Porter was able to commit his future to the club.

"Jamie is integral to what we are trying to build and achieve at this club. Ever since he emerged onto the scene he has been exceptional and met every challenge he has been faced with.

"His contributions during this season have been immense and we want to continue to give Jamie the platform to express himself and pursue international honours in the near future."
