WESTCLIFF-ON-SEA will be looking to pile on the misery for Benfleet when the two do battle at Chalkwell Park tomorrow.

The Division Three encounter is an important one for both sides, arguably more so for Benfleet who are already 29 points adrift at the bottom of the table.

Winless after six matches, Benfleet will be looking to build on recent draws and their abandonment last week and get the better of their rivals in the process.

Westcliff have been inconsistent from the first match of the season, with their record reading won, lost, won, lost, won, lost to date.

If that record is anything to go by, Westcliff should chalk up another win tomorrow and that could prove hugely beneficial with just 30 points separating the top eight sides.

Basildon & Pitsea will be looking to climb into the promotion places when they take on Walthamstow tomorrow afternoon.

The Men from Mopsies have enjoyed a positive start to the season and were impressive in their victory against Stanford-le-Hope in their last outing.

Walthamstow sit third bottom in the standings after winning just once this season, and that on the opening day.

The visitors match was abandoned last week, but Benfleet and West Essex have already been cut adrift at the bottom of the division, and 25 points for Walthamstow could see them just a point behind Basildon come the close of play.

Stanford-le-Hope were beaten by Basildon & Pitsea last time out and travel to Epping tomorrow hoping to return to winning ways.

Stanford sit fourth in the division after that reverse, their first in three matches, but face a tough ask against second-placed Epping.

However, with just seven points separating the two in the table, it is likely to be a tense encounter at Lower Bury Lane.
